Real Cheap Goods?

Interesting. Today’s e-mail was short, bitter sweet, and really was some of the worst advertising I have ever seen. The only good thing was this one had an actual domain and wasn’t sending me to some gibberish like iohewfiowejfwoefj.com. I personally have never heard of dealoec.com, but that’s where this link came from.

Hi, guys
Real price of cheap goods, to share with you
www.dealoec.com

Maybe you know more about them than I do. I think for me, I will be sticking to finding my great deals at Amazon or Walmart. I’m sure they’re just the newest and greatest thing with the best deals I have ever seen, but I’ll stick to what I know I guess. Oh, and I suppose it would help if that was actually a valid domain. When I tried it, it just timed out and I didn’t get a response from their server. Usually, if you have great prices, you’ll have a website that lists those great prices.

Millionaire Dates

Find Millionaire Singles Find Millionaire Singles Find Millionaire Singles

Okay, sure. I will admit that I thought I had seen it all. I mean, I have seen a lot of dating ads doing what I do. I have seen them for dating different ethnicities, especially Asian and African American. I have seen them for dating different age groups, especially when it is “mature women looking for dates.” However, what I found today was something that I never thought possible.

This is an ad to look up and start dating millionaires. I mean, I realize that when you are looking for that significant other, you would prefer them to be well off. However, the fact that you would limit your dating to only wealthy people makes you really shallow in my opinion. I mean, I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure Aladdin was poor and look how well that turned out for the both of them in the end. I mean, I guess it is just the opinion of myself that eHarmony, a site that takes into consideration many different factors and gives you the best compatibilities based on your preferences, likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc., makes a lot more sense than MillionaireDates.com.

Background Checks

Wow, interesting. So with this site, Checkmate, you can apparently perform background checks. I actually tried running a few tests by searching for myself and then a couple of my friends. Unfortunately, the site couldn’t find any of us. Actually, I have ran background checks on people using this site. It works for Minnesota records, anyway. Criminal records are public knowledge, so really just about anyone can perform background checks. A lot of sites make money because you have to go down to the court office and request them. Oh, and the simple fact that most people don’t know you can do it.

It’s interesting in the wording that they use here. They state that “background checks have been seen on” and then list a few big companies. What they don’t claim is that these companies like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, etc. used Checkmate to perform the background checks. Looks like you have to pay attention to detail sometimes in order to catch scams. ;)

Light Up Your Lawn

I guess there isn’t really much I can say about this email that I received, as there isn’t a lot of words. I mean, basically they are trying to sell “stylish” solar lighting options at “great prices.” They don’t say what any starting prices are or anything that might be useful. For all we know, the one shown isn’t even part of their collection. Even so, I do love solar lights in my yard. Oh, but the lights themselves aren’t the best part of this email.

To stop receiving “announcements,” or spam, I have to send a letter to these guys:

Adverpages
401 E. 8th St, Ste 214-603
Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Okay, sure. It seems like a legit business. But I mean, why would I have to send a letter to stop them from sending me email? It’s just another way to make sure it doesn’t happen. Now, to be completely removed from the list, I have to send yet another letter to this address:

My Kid Is The Best
729 9th Ave #126
Huntington, West Virginia 25701

I mean, come on. Seriously? That’s who I’m sending it to? And why are two things that should be associated located in such different places?

Vinyl Siding Estimate

Well, I received this image in my Gmail account today. It’s contents are about getting quotes and comparing contractors for vinyl siding. Now, the house that I currently reside in doesn’t have siding on it just because of the style of the residence. However, when I lived in town, we had blue vinyl siding on our house.

These pieces shown in the picture are pretty easy to put up and look really nice. Vinyl is the way to go for siding. It’s fairly cheap, easy to put up, and does not take much time. Most people that choose to put up siding don’t end up doing it themselves, but that is an option if you know what you are doing somewhat. Otherwise, as I said, it’s fairly cheap to put up this vinyl siding. Apparently, you can use this site to figure out which contractor and which price you will decide on.

Credit Scores

What’s your credit rating? I can be completely honest about this. I have absolutely no idea what my personal credit score is. I know that there are three different credit bureau’s, TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. However, I haven’t the slightest clue what my score is in any of them. I’ve never had a problem with my credit rating as far as I know, and I’ve never missed a payment or anything like that. However, that isn’t the case for everyone. Some people would love to know what their number is.
By visiting FreeCredit.com, you can see what your credit rating is. The rest of the ad reads that you can view all 3 of your scores for free with your Credit Score Complete trial membership. I have no idea of the costs or what the catch is, but let me be the one to tell you to be careful when dealing with places like this. They are there to make money, too, and not just help you out.

$1000 Victoria’s Secret Card

I, along with most guys out there, love pleasing my girlfriend and making her feel great about herself and the relationship in general. One of the stores that can help me do this more than any other that I can think of is Victoria’s Secret. Most of the time it is just a nice perfume set or lotions or something, but they everything that you could imagine for her.

While of course it isn’t actually free, it is still a nice dream. Basically, they are trying to show you that you get a free $1000 gift card for Victoria’s Secret. What they aren’t telling you about is the participation that is required, shown in the fine print at the bottom of the ad. These participations are ridiculous and include such things as signing up for a cable company, opening a bank account, and other similar things.

If this isn’t good enough for you, these people offering this gift card aren’t even affiliated with Victoria’s Secret.

Mesothelioma Injury

Well, I can honestly say that the last thing I expected to see in my spam Gmail account’s inbox was spam about mesothelioma. Well, I guess it happened and I had to click it to see what it was all about. Basically, it reads that “millions of americans have been exposed to asbestos and developed mesothelioma cancer!” I haven’t really heard a lot about this and have no idea on its validity, but if it’s true, that really sucks.

The email continues, “find out now if you are entitled to compensation for your suffering.” Hell, if I was exposed to asbestos and developed a cancer of any kind, I would definitely expect some compensation. It’s great that people are smart enough in the legal sense to help others out that might not be. “Contact us now for a free private case evaluation.” That could also be a great thing, as people that are suffering do not have to suffer even more to figure out if they are entitled to the compensation that the email is talking about.

Netflix Free Trial

Today, I received an email that was about Netflix. As you know, Netflix recently switched from a combined service to split packages. One of their services offers unlimited streaming. The other service, the DVDs mailed to your home, was going to be renamed but was kept as Netflix. While before the two services were $7.99 a month together, they are now $7.99 each.

Start your Netflix 1 month FREE trial today and watch unlimited TV episodes & movies whenever you want. Your free trial really is free – cancel online anytime.

It’s a free trial, so you’ve got nothing to lose.
•   Instantly over the Internet
•   Watch right on your TV or computer
•   Start, pause and continue when you want
•   No ads or commercials

I can’t really check out the free trial, as I already have Netflix. I personally chose the unlimited streaming option, which is hooked up to my TV via my Xbox 360 console.

Lake Geneva Resort

Groupon has sent me a deal to my Gmail account on staying at the Lake Geneva Resort in Wisconsin. It was for a ski and golf package. The skiers, from the summit of The Mountain Top, can view the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa’s 1,300-acre property. Just three miles from the shores of Geneva Lake is the AAA Four Diamond resort, which includes two championship golf courses, an indoor water park, and 18 ski runs that zigzag down the slopes.

During the slower hours of the day for your group, deluxe courtside or lakeside rooms offer a “restful haven” in the resort’s ranch-style lodge, which was inspired by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. There are quite a few restaurants that cater to different tastes, from the fillet medallions at the ChopHouse to handmade pasta with lobster from Ristoranté Brissago. Two cafés and a pair of bars and grills offer casual dining alternatives as well.

Between the two award-winning golf courses of Grand Geneva Resort, The Brute challenges even the most accomplished players, while the Jack Nicklaus-designed Highlands course accommodates higher handicaps. There is a 35-foot rock-climbing wall and tennis courts in the indoor sports complex. If that isn’t good enough, the WELL Spa and Salon may have your attention. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs bubble year-round at TimberRidge Waterpark, a “sprawling” facility featuring a lazy river and twisting waterslides.
